About Score

Honda Center is home to the Anaheim Ducks, and in February 2015, it will become the home of the First Flight Field Trip. Join more than 15,000 students and teachers for this free one-day event as we explore the math and science of hockey in Southern California's largest classroom. Unlike traditional field trip destinations, the First Flight Field Trip will educate students within a highly exciting and entertaining atmosphere. It will combine learning from hands-on exhibits and displays, workbook activities, and best of all, students will be taught live and in-person by hockey’s experts -- the Anaheim Ducks players and coaches! Make this national award-winning program your next field trip destination this year. We guarantee it will be the most memorable field trip for your students!

The First Flight Field Trip explores a new theme each year to provide your students a unique experience each time they participate in this event. Please check back here in late August for the year's theme and educational focus!

There is no cost to attend the First Flight Field Trip. It is FREE! Tickets and workbooks are included in your registration and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. These items will be sent to schools one month prior to the event. Each person attending the event will be assigned a seat location and all students will receive an official First Flight Field Trip workbook.

Playground (8AM - 10:30AM)
The "Playground" is the First Flight Field Trip's exhibition area located outside of the arena in the Honda Center parking lot. When it opens at 8:00 AM, students can participate in interactive activities and engage in hands-on exhibits relating to the educational lessons found in the First Flight Field Trip workbook. Schools who opt in for the exhibits area will be placed into a track where they can experience the exhibits at assigned times to avoid long wait times.

Classroom (10:30AM - 12:30PM)
At 10:30 AM, the program moves from the “Playground” to the “Classroom” where students will be met by their First Flight Field Trip teachers, the Anaheim Ducks players and coaches!  As the students are in their seats with their workbooks out, various Ducks players will cover the educational concepts and spend time explaining the answers to the questions found in the workbook lessons. They will also test students by calling on them to participate in various pop quiz segments for great prizes. At the conclusion of the event, the entire Ducks team will compete in an exciting skills showdown for all to enjoy!
