Honda Center is home for the Anaheim Ducks and on February 11, 2010, it will become the home of the First Flight Field Trip. Join over 15,000 students and teachers for this free one day event as we explore the math and science of hockey in Southern California’s largest classroom. Unlike traditional science museums, the First Flight Field Trip will educate your students within a highly exciting and entertaining atmosphere. It will combine learning from hands-on exhibits, workbook activities, and best of all, they will also be taught live and in-person by hockey’s experts – the Anaheim Ducks players and coaches! Make the First Flight Field Trip your field trip destination this year. We guarantee it will be the most memorable field trip for your students!

The First Flight Field Trip explores a new theme each year to provide your students a unique experience each time they participate in the field trip. Whether it’s studying the ice the players skate on or the composition of a hockey stick, these are just a few topics of the many facets of hockey. This year, the field trip will help your students to “Discover the Puck”. Although the puck has a small footprint of 1” (thick) and 3” (wide), it plays a huge role in hockey. In this field trip, students will apply their knowledge of math and science to explore how the puck slides on ice, they will learn to calculate puck speed from players’ slap shots, and more!
There is no cost to attend the First Flight Field Trip. It is FREE! Tickets and workbooks are included in your registration and will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis. For registrations made before the deadline, tickets and workbooks will be sent to your school or classroom at least one month prior to the event.
