The Anaheim Ducks S.C.O.R.E. Assembly Program brings the excitement of hockey directly to local schools through a fun, high-energy presentation. Focused on teamwork, healthy living, respect, overcoming obstacles, and celebrating diversity the program engages students with interactive lessons that connect life skills to the sport of hockey. With the help of the inspiring people in our community, students are encouraged to make positive choices both inside and outside the classroom while experiencing the thrill of the game.
For the first time ever, this program is open to all schools in the greater Orange County area. Assemblies are geared towards 1st-6th grade students depending on the topic. Schools selected to host an assembly must participate in one of our S.C.O.R.E. programs (Street Hockey, First Flight, Captain's Challenge, Reading is the Goal). Selected schools will be notified by October 2nd, 2026.
Former U.S. Olympic goaltender Molly Schaus guides students through a unique lens of identity and self-expression by exploring how goaltenders use their masks as personal canvases. Through her story, students learn that everyone has a unique voice and are inspired to design their own helmet art by reflecting who they are and what they stand for. The program culminates in a special recognition moment at an Anaheim Ducks home game, celebrating student creativity in front of their peers and community.
Longtime broadcaster Johnny Ahlers brings his passion for hockey and teamwork to life with an engaging, hands-on activity where students work together to gear up a fellow student in full hockey equipment. Through humor and interaction, Johnny emphasizes the importance of communication, collaboration, and supporting one another — both on and off the ice.
Former NHL player and Southern California native Emerson Etem speaks candidly about his path to professional hockey and the importance of staying sharp — mentally, physically, and emotionally. Using the metaphor of maintaining one’s skates, he illustrates how personal care, self-awareness, and discipline are key to long-term success, no matter your path.
